Full/Part-time All positions are located at our headquarters in Fargo, ND.

Internships Paid internships are open to any high school senior, undergraduate or graduate student. University students should be majoring in business, accounting, marketing, sales, communication, chemistry, mechanical engineering, coatings and polymeric materials, plastics engineering or related fields. Internships are for minimum of one semester, preferably longer. Preference is given to North Dakota students studying at North Dakota schools, although all interested applicants are encouraged to apply. 

Technology Intern I and II

Purpose

Assist the lab manager and CTO with duties related to research, formulation, and quality control of Elinor products.

Primary Responsibilities

Assist with formulation and quality control of in-house manufactured batches of Elinor Products. Research products and packaging as needed and assist with lab cleanup and prep.
The Technology Intern will have the following responsibilities:Prepare panels for coating trials.Assist in cleaning the lab and keeping supplies orderly.Assist with standard and advanced experiments in the area of coatings formulation and developmentResearch raw materials and packaging vendors.Assist with the selection of vendors/suppliers.Assist with small-batch manufacturing and packaging.Assist with order fulfillment and packaging by adhering to hazardous shipping requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

Education/ExperienceUndergraduate or graduate student enrolled in Coating science, materials science, materials engineering, civil engineering or related technical area.
Optimal Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Corrosion, corrosion inhibition, coatings formulation, and polymer knowledge.Experience with coating formulations and characterization. Experience working in a multi-disciplinary environment. Communication and writing skills to enable working with multi-disciplinary groups of individuals with diverse backgrounds.Demonstrated computer skills with capable software knowledge.

Desired Qualifications

Demonstrated ability to communicate (verbally and written) with colleagues and supervisors. Ability to produce written reports on research activities.Demonstrated ability to set priorities and respond to changing needs from multiple sources.  Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills.  Demonstrated ability to work with personal computer software in areas of word processing, spreadsheets.  

Salary Expectations (3 month contract)

$10/hr (undergraduate) – $16/hr (graduate)

Minimum 8 hrs/week

Maximum 40 hrs/week


Media Intern – Communications and Writing

Purpose

The main responsibility of this position is to assist the Marketing Officer with duties related to marketing Elinor Coatings products and research capabilities to a national audience. The right candidate will grow Elinor’s presence as trusted experts on the metal protection, corrosion and environment stewardship thus increasing both civilian and federal government research and sales contracts.

Primary Responsibilities

Assist the Marketing Officer with duties related to managing social media, creating and editing video for product training, advertising and helping maintain a website and blog by gathering can creating relevant content. This position will research public policy and environmental issues related to Elinor Coatings and provide written and media content for blogs, white papers and/or press releases.
The Media Intern will have the following responsibilities:Assist in creating content for Elinor’s social media and online presence.Assist with writing white papers.Research and report on public policy and environmental issues that affect Elinor products, research or clients. Assist with writing and distributing press releases as well as scheduling media interations.

Minimum Qualifications

Education/ExperienceUndergraduate or graduate student enrolled in marketing, sales communications, coating, engineering or related field.
Optimal Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Strong technical writing skills.Demonstrated experience with online media. Experience working in a multi-disciplinary environment.Communication and writing skills to enable working with multi-disciplinary groups of individuals with diverse backgrounds.Demonstrated computer skills with capable Microsoft Office software knowledge.
